Matlock Slalom Event 2024, 3rd Time Lucky.

After 2 attempts, on the third time we got lucky, the river has finally behaved and a slalom competition was held!

On the 23-24 March 2024 over 75 paddlers from all across the UK travelled to Matlock to take part in a Div 2 slalom course on the river Derwent.

Both days were a great success  and with only a little rain on Saturday everyone still came out and tried their best on the technical course.

Thank you too everyone who helped set up the course on Friday and took down the course on Sunday. Another thanks to everyone who helped on the days from judging, helping out in control and doing river safety it was all greatly appreciated by everyone there. Matlock Canoe Club would also like to thank Heights of Abraham, Derbyshire Dales District Council,
Derbyshire Police and Peak PS for making this whole weekend possible.
