Kayak Kids
In the crystal clear, thermal waters of the New Bath Hotel outdoor pool Matlock Canoe Club have been offered a unique opportunity to teach kids to kayak. Kayak Kids is ideally suited to children aged 7 to 11 years (school year 2 to year 6). Sessions will be structured with warm-up games for the whole group, followed by small group instruction of paddling skills and finishing off with some more games.
Details for the 2025 sessions will be available in March
You will need to be a member of Matlock Canoe Club to join Kayak Kids (for insurance cover). When your place is confirmed, you will be able to join the Club at matlockcanoeclub.co.uk
Note: To join Matlock Canoe Club children must be able to swim 50 metres unaided, wearing clothes and a buoyancy aid.
Also note: At all sessions, children must be closely supervised (on the poolside / canalside) at all times, by a parent or guardian. (Any child under 7 years must not attend the pool / canal session, unless accompanied by an additional supervising adult).
