If you are planning a trip from Darley Bridge to Matlock Bath you need to be aware of construction work to repair flood damage at Matlock Bridge. This is a long term project due to be completed in Spring 2024. There is a massive crane working on the site and you will need to wait for it to be safe to proceed. There is a pontoon just below the Peak Rail railway bridge. There are marshalls on the pontoon whenever the crane is working. You need to stop at the pontoon until the marshalls say you can go. You will then need to use the right hand arch of the bridge.
If you are planning a trip with a group, please can you send the date and approximate time of arrival in Matlock so I can let the site team know. The average wait time at the site should be no more than ten minutes.
